Please join Peace Direct, the Movement for Community Led Development and CIVICUS for a timely discussion on international conferences on the locally led agenda. Peace Direct is an international peacebuilding organisation working in partnership with local peacebuilders and other allies to shift power and resources for sustainable peace. The Movement for Community Led Development works to bring civil society and governments into an effective partnership to ShiftThePower. CIVICUS is a global alliance of civil society organisations and activists dedicated to strengthening citizen action and civil society throughout the world.
We will convene online on 5-6 March 2024, for a 2-day consultation on Platform4 Dialogue. The discussion will cover best practices, recommendations and experiences by actors from the Majority World, or Global South, participating in convenings or conferences held in the Global North about the locally led agenda.

This consultation aims to develop a guidance document to be shared with international NGOs, foundations and bilateral donors to commit to better practices when hosting convenings about the locally led agenda. It builds on the sign on letter outlining recommendations on how convening spaces on Locally-led Development (LLD) should be organized.
How will it work? The conversations will take place on Peace Direct’s Platform4Dialogue* online discussion platform for two days, over 5-6 March.
A guidance document will be produced from this consultation to present the findings to the wider sector, and findings will also be used to influence broader advocacy. Some participants may be asked for their consent to have their comments from the consultation quoted in this report.
